Half Moon Cay, a private island in the Bahamas that is visited by both Holland America Line and Carnival Cruise Line ships, has no structural damage after Hurricane Dorian.
Holland America Line, the cruise line which owns the island, posted the following update on their Facebook page about how Half Moon Cay fared during the hurricane:
“UPDATE: many of our guests have asked questions about Half Moon Cay. There was some minor beach erosion that will be cleaned up but no structural damage, and the horses and stingrays are all doing well. Holland America Line ships are scheduled to return to Half Moon Cay on October 21 with a visit by Zuiderdam. Our thoughts continue to be with the people in areas of The Bahamas that are most impacted by this storm.”
While Holland America Line doesn’t have a ship scheduled to visit Half Moon Cay until October 21, Carnival ships should return to visiting the island soon.
Half Moon Cay is located roughly 215 miles southeast of Freeport, Bahamas.
