Disney Cruise Line continues to do well during surprise health inspections with one of their cruise ships scoring a perfect 100 for the 14th time in eight years.
Disney Dream has had 17 health inspections since debuting in 2011 and has now earned a perfect health score in 14 of them. The ship has never failed an inspection or scored lower than a 94. The latest inspection of Disney Dream took place late last month while the cruise ship was docked in Port Canaveral.
Twice a year, each cruise ship that sails to or from a U.S. cruise port goes through an unannounced public health inspection. This inspection is done by the VSP (Vessel Sanitation Program) to determine how well the ships are operating and to the check the sanitation standards on board.
To receive a perfect 100 score, a cruise ship much receive perfect marks on 44 different items that are on the Vessel Sanitation Program checklist. The ships are checked for a number things including galley cleanliness, food storage procedures, food handing and preparation, and water supplies used in spas and pools.
Disney Dream currently sails three and four night cruises to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral, Florida.
