Disney Reveals Plans to Reach 13 Cruise Ships by 2030 (3 Ships in 2029 Alone)

Tucked away in Disney’s earnings report this morning was a graphic that Disney Cruise Line fans should find particularly interesting.

The graphic revealed that the cruise line plans to speed up delivery dates for future ships, ushering in three new cruise ships in 2029 alone, and reaching thirteen ships in the fleet by 2030.

Disney Cruise Line currently operates eight ships. To get to thirteen ships is almost a 63% increase.

Big Growth for Disney’s Fleet

With three new ships introduced into the fleet in just the last three years (Treasure, Destiny, Adventure), Disney is already ramping up the cruise side of its business. And the company’s latest earnings report shows no plans of slowing down.

Sharing the initial results from their newest vessels, Disney noted in their quarterly update:

Fiscal Q3 was the first full quarter with our two newest cruise ships, the Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure. Together, these ships increased stateroom capacity by approximately 50% compared to the prior-year quarter and we remain encouraged by current occupancy and forward bookings. We are looking forward to bringing additional cruise capacity online in the years ahead.”

Updated Delivery Schedule

A graphic in the PDF of the earnings report gives us a clear look at when we can expect the next five ships to arrive:

  • Late 2027 – Disney Believe: The fourth Wish-class ship remains on track for late 2027. Disney is scheduled to share more details during a livestream reveal event on October 7, 2026.
  • 2029 – Oriental Land Company (OLC) Wish-Class Ship: The fifth Wish-class ship, built specifically for Japan operations in partnership with OLC (the operators behind Tokyo Disney Resort), stays on schedule for 2029. We are still waiting on an official name for this vessel.
  • 2029 – Ship 11 & Ship 12: Disney shifted delivery forward for two of its three planned smaller ships (105,000 GT), which will sit between the Magic-class and Dream-class ships in size. Originally planned to roll out across 2029, 2030, and 2031, Ship 11 and Ship 12 will now both arrive in 2029. That makes 2029 a huge year for cruisers, with three new ships entering service in a single year.
  • Late 2030 – Ship 13: The final unnamed vessel in the expansion is now set for late 2030, pulling the entire 13-ship fleet goal ahead by a full year.

Disney has not yet announced official names for the OLC-operated ship or the three smaller vessels. But we’re hoping details will be coming soon, and Cruise Fever will be sure to let everyone know the new information.
