A Princess cruise ship which had several cruises canceled due to problems with the generators on board will return to service on Sunday.
The previous three cruises on Regal Princess (October 27, November 3, 10) had been canceled due to a technical issue with the power generators on the ship.
The first two sailings were canceled due to one generator and when it was fixed, a second generator experienced a technical failure leading to the cancelation of this week’s cruise.
Princess has now confirmed that all repairs have been made to the ship and it will depart on the November 17th sailing as scheduled.
Princess Cruises sent the following statement to Cruise Fever about the repairs to Regal Princess:
“Princess Cruises has confirmed that all technical repairs aboard Regal Princess have been successfully completed, and the ship will depart from Galveston as scheduled on November 17.
“Essential work was done to address power generator issues that had affected previous sailings on October 27, November 3 and November 10.
“Our team has worked diligently to ensure Regal Princess is fully operational and ready to deliver a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable cruise experience.
“We look forward to welcoming guests aboard and appreciate their patience and understanding as we resolved these technical matters.”
Princess Cruises gave all guests who were booked on one of the three canceled cruises a full refund and a 50% credit to use for a future cruise.
The November 17, 2024 sailing on Regal Princess is a seven-night cruise to the Western Caribbean from Galveston. The ship will visit Costa Maya, Roatan and Cozumel.
