A Carnival cruise ship returned to service this weekend after spending 15 days in a dry dock at the Seaspan shipyard in Victoria, Canada.

Carnival Radiance returned to service on Saturday, October 3, 2026, for an eight-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera out of Long Beach, California.
While the cruise ship was in dry dock, it received routine maintenance and Carnival Cruise Line’s new signature “From Sea to Shining Sea” bow crest.

In addition to maintenance and the new bow crest, the cruise ship also received enhancements that include a renewed Effy jewelry boutique and refreshed guest areas in the interior and open deck areas.

Why weren’t there a lot of changes made to Carnival Radiance during the dry dock like there normally are? While older ships go to dry dock every three years, the ship went into dry dock just two years ago, in September 2024.
During the last dry dock, the layout of the casino was refreshed along with youth areas, mini-golf course, basketball court, Carnival Adventures store, and gift shops.
This is also the second dry dock since the ship underwent a major renovation that converted the ship from Carnival Victory to Carnival Radiance in the fall of 2021. This massive update to the ship added 110 new cabins, many new dining options, a waterpark, and more.
Carnival Radiance currently sails from Long Beach, California, and mostly offers four- and five-night cruises to Mexico. The cruise ship is scheduled to sail from the port through at least April 2029.
