In a much needed update, Carnival Cruise Line upgraded the internet speed and bandwidth on one of their cruise ships this past week and has plans to add this upgrade to every cruise ship in their fleet.
The upgrade was given to Carnival Vista, the newest cruise ship in Carnival’s fleet. With the increase in speed and bandwidth, guests will now have little trouble stream video and uploading photos to the internet. John Heald, Carnival Cruise Line’s brand ambassador, said that guests have been extremely pleased with the faster speeds now offered on board the vessel.
The price for internet plans will remain the same even with the increase in speeds. The prices are as follows:
- Social WiFi Plan: $5 per day
- Value WiFi Plan: $12 per day
- Premium WiFi Plan: $17.70 per day
- Price is based on cruise-long plans and may vary throughout the fleet
While Carnival Cruise Line has yet to release a schedule for the rollout of these new increased internet speeds, Heald said that the cruise line will be adding it to the rest of the ships in the fleet over the next few weeks/months.
Any update on when the Freedom will get this upgrade? It has the slowest internet of any Carnival ship I’ve sailed on.
