Carnival Cruise Line Changes Ship’s Itinerary in Europe

Carnival Cruise Line has modified a cruise itinerary for their ship that is currently undergoing a massive renovation.

Carnival Victory is in the middle of a $200 million renovation that will transform the cruise ship into Carnival Radiance.  Carnival Cruise Line has changed the May 30, 2020 sailing replacing port stops in Italy with ports in Spain, France and Croatia.  The cruise line sent the following letter to guests who are book on this cruise.

Dear Carnival Radiance Guest,

Like you, we have been closely following all the developments related to Covid-19 (coronavirus). Given the travel restrictions imposed for Italy, our itinerary planning team has been hard at work reimagining your European itinerary. Our goal is to provide you with opportunities to experience a variety of cultures and experience beautiful, historical ports of call where you can make the most of your time ashore and leave with unique, one of a kind memories.

With this in mind, we have modified our itinerary to replace the Italian ports with destinations in Spain, France and Croatia. Below is our revised itinerary:

DAY PORT ARRIVE DEPART
Saturday: Barcelona, Spain 5:00 PM
Sunday: Valencia, Spain 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Monday: Palma de Mallorca, Spain 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
Tuesday: Fun Day @ Sea
Wednesday: Valletta, Malta 9:00 AM 6:00 PM
Thursday: Fun Day @ Sea

We are excited to bring you to these ports and are confident you will enjoy all there is to see and do. Valencia is known as the City of Arts and Sciences where old city charm meets modern architecture. Its home to the largest aquarium in Europe and an impressive planetarium. Explore the Old Quarter by walking the coliseum-style bullring, relax in Albufera Park or at one of the cities beaches along the Costa Blanca.

Mallorca is the largest island off the coast of Spain where you can enjoy golden-sand beaches, tall pine groves and towering cliffs… not to mention grand churches, top-notch art museums, and lively plazas.

Dubrovnik is a picture-perfect medieval-walled city with ancient stone buildings, narrow cobbled streets and fortified ramparts rising above red-tiled rooftops. Explore the man-made treasures like Old Town and the city’s famous wall, but don’t miss the natural pleasures like Dubrovnik’s nearby beaches. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Old Town remains the world-renown pride of the Republic of Croatia.

Corsica has something for everyone – dramatic shoreline cliffs, small coves, and golden beaches. We will dock in Ajaccio, the island’s capital and largest town. Fun fact: it’s the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte! While the island has been part of France since the 18th century, Corsica offers its own unique culture and flavor waiting to be discovered by you.

Marseilles is the largest port on the Mediterranean and your gateway to France’s Provence. In Marseille, you can explore the countryside around Arles and Avignon, as immortalized by the famous artists Van Gogh, Cezanne, Matisse and Picasso, enjoy its world famous beach region, or stroll through the nearby marina to enjoy a wide variety of shopping and dining venues.

Pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions for the canceled ports of call will be automatically refunded to your original form of payment. Our shore excursion team is currently working on securing tours for your upcoming voyage and we invite you to visit Carnival.com in two weeks to select your new excursions.

As a gesture of our appreciation for your loyalty, a total $300, per stateroom, onboard credit (inclusive of the credit offered last week), will be automatically posted to your onboard Sail & Sign account, if you keep your booking as scheduled for this voyage (no need to call us).

Alternatively, if you booked by March 5, 2020, you may also cancel up to 30 days prior to your schedule departure date. Any cancelation charges will be held as a future cruise credit (FCC) to be redeemed on a cruise departing by May 30, 2021. Any pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions, specialty dining/spa or Fun Shop orders will be automatically cancelled and refunds will be processed to your original form of payment by your bank within three weeks.

We are experiencing higher than usual call volume and encourage you to contact your travel advisor, Carnival Personal Vacation Planner, or access “cruise manager” on Carnival.com to cancel your reservation. Any penalties will be held in your account as a FCC.

If you decide to cancel your cruise and it included Fly2Fun air, your air portion will be included as part of the FCC. If you have independent air, please contact your airline carrier directly as they are being flexible in waiving change fees.

We know this is a time of uncertainty and we want to thank you for your patience and understanding. We will continue to monitor COVID-19 and will keep you apprised of any relevant developments. Updated information is maintained on Carnival.com (click on Travel Health Advisory on the top of the home page).

Most importantly, we want you to know that all of us at Carnival are committed to ensuring your time on Carnival Radiance is fun and filled with memories to last a lifetime.
