Carnival Cruise Line Adds 112 Cruises From Australia

About two weeks ago, Carnival Cruise Line said that they were pulling two cruise ships from Australia and likely moving them to North America.

The cruise line has now announced that the two ships staying in Australia, Carnival Encounter and Carnival Splendor, will sail a total of 112 cruises from the country in 2028-2029.

The 112 new cruises will visit the South Pacific, Far North Queensland, New Zealand, and Tasmania. The ships will sail roundtrip from Sydney and Brisbane.

A few highlights of these new voyages include a solar eclipse cruise from Brisbane on Carnival Encounter in July 2028. The ship will also offer a brand new 13-day cruise from Brisbane to New Zealand.

Carnival Splendor will offer a Melbourne Cup cruise from Sydney in November 2028.

Among these new sailings from Carnival Cruise Line are 23 three-day cruises from both Sydney and Brisbane.

There are also 18 Tangalooma-Moreton Island voyages from Sydney, giving Carnival cruisers the chance to book a picture-perfect beachfront cabana at the new Tangalooma Dunes Cabana Club. The cabanas are exclusive to Carnival guests when our ships are visiting the island.

Carnival Encounter has 12 sailings from Brisbane to Airlie Beach, and its popular Mutiny on the Bounty cruise to Fiji returns. Carnival Cruise Line also has six voyages to New Zealand between mid-2028 and mid-2029.

Carnival Splendor is scheduled to go into dry dock in August 2028.

Carnival Cruise Line Assistant Vice President of Sales and Marketing Anton Loeb said the following:

“We expect our 28/29 program to be incredibly popular with first-time cruisers and families and friends wanting a fun, great value holiday option. So, we encourage people to book early to avoid missing out.”

“Carnival remains the only cruise line sailing in Australia all year, and with this program release taking us through the next three years, to mid-2029, we look forward to continuing to provide unforgettable holidays for families and friends.”

These newly announced cruises from Carnival Cruise Line are now open for booking.

Farewell Cruises for Carnival Adventure and Carnival Luminosa

Carnival will offer repositioning cruises as two of its ships leave the region in 2028.

Carnival Luminosa will set sail from Sydney on a 23-day repositioning cruise to Los Angeles on 15 March 2028, visiting Hawaii and French Polynesia.

Carnival Adventure will offer three itineraries that take the ship from Sydney to Seattle.

  • 19-day Sydney to Tokyo voyage departing March 20, 2028, visiting Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Taipei, Taiwan and Japan
  • 8-day Tokyo roundtrip voyage departing April 8, 2028, with highlights including Busan, South Korea, and Mount Fuji
  • 15-day Tokyo to Seattle Transpacific voyage departing April 16, 2028
