Carnival Cruise Line Adds New Room Service Fee and Eliminates Room Service on Debarkation Day

Carnival Cruise Line is making a few changes to their complimentary room service program that is offered onboard their cruise ships.

The biggest change will be that the cruise line will no longer offer complimentary room service from 10 pm to 6 am each day. Carnival will now offer an expanded offering of fee based items that will range from $2-$6.

New options include Greek Salad, Chicken Caesar Salad, Portabella & Veggie Bun, Grilled Cheese, Bacon and Tomato Sandwich, and Roast Turkey Wrap. There will also be a new selection of  desserts including Dark Chocolate Walnut Brownies, Doughnut Sandwich, and Banana Split.

In addition to the elimination of complimentary room service after 10 pm, Carnival Cruise Line will no longer offer room service on the morning of debarkation.  Breakfast will continued to be offered at the Lido Deck Restaurant and also at cruise ships that have Ocean Plaza.

The biggest reason for this change was due to the amount of wasted food according to Carnival’s Senior Cruise Director John Heald.  He went on to say that the fee based menu for late night snacks should help alleviate this issue.

Carnival ships will continue to offer complimentary late night snacks at the pizzerias and delis onboard.

Heald also stated that Carnival Cruise Line has no plans to start charging for complimentary room service items from 6:00 am through 10:00 pm.

  1. How much will they charge for cookies and milk? I need something to take my evening medication, but I’m normally not in my cabin by 9:30PM. Did to my disability, it’s hard for me to chase down something on lido deck.

  2. Sometimes for the average person or senior, it is hard enough to pull the money together for one of these cruises and have an enjoyable time now you are adding all these upcharges.

  3. This is still good I was just on Rcl and its was $7.96 plus 15% grates and they only delivery half of our food and the 20 minute delivery ended up 2 hours later they knocked on the door with only 1/2 of the food

  4. Carnival is starting to nickle and dime. As loyal cruisers with Carnival, penny pinching makes me want to start cruising with the competition.

  5. So food only gets wasted between 10 pm and 6 am? That’s their explanation? I guess they think people are stupid. I would think mire food would be wasted outside if those hours, and that if you were ordering then it was because you were really hungry
Do many even order during that time?
