Cruise Fever reached out to Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection about the delay and received the following response:

“The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection was recently informed by Hijos de J. Barreras shipyard that it is facing delivery and project cost issues. With additional challenges around the former shipyard management, both the new Board of Hijos de J. Barreras and the Board of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection are working cooperatively towards a long term solution for the shipyard. As a result, we have been forced to re-schedule the debut of the yacht’s first voyage and subsequent voyages through June 13th, 2020.

We sincerely apologize to all guests who were ready to sail with us in the beginning of 2020. While we are eager to welcome guests aboard, our focus remains on ensuring a seamless delivery of the standards of quality and service that The Ritz-Carlton is known for. Our team is deeply committed to delivering a highly customized, state-of-the-art build that will make our inaugural yacht the most distinctive of its kind.

The yacht’s first voyage will now take place on June 14th, 2020. Guests affected by this shift in timing will be invited to rebook their voyage on any one of our voyages in 2020, or newly announced 2021 itineraries.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is extending voyage fare savings when guests rebook their future voyage or full reimbursement for our guests’ paid cruise fare and airfare and hotel change fees. In addition, travel advisors’ commissions will be fully preserved. We are reaching out to guests who have been booked on voyages between February 5th and June 13th, 2020.
