SkySea Cruise Line, the first smart contemporary cruise line specifically developed for the Chinese market, has been operating SkySea Golden Era since May 2015. SkySea Cruise Line sailed close to 300 cruises and carried nearly 500,000 guests in just over three years of the company’s existence.

TUI AG’s Marella Cruises has purchased Golden Era, with delivery expected in December 2018. The cruise ship originally sailed under Celebrity Cruises as Celebrity Century. SkySea Cruise Line is currently owned by Royal Caribbean, Ctrip, SkySea management, and a private equity fund.

The final cruise for SkySea Cruise Line was a four night cruise out of Shanghai with a port stop in Fukuoka, Japan.

Ken Muskat, CEO of SkySea Cruise Line, documented a few of the special moments on Twitter from the the final sailing.
