There were 26,900 passengers on the seven ships to go along with 9,900 crew members. Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Silhouette, and Marella Explorer all enjoyed late night port stays and had the opportunity to sample some of the nightlife activities in Philipsburg and along the Beach Promenade.
Port St. Maarten Management gave the following statement about the big day in port: “The destination is expected to maintain a certain standard across the board to continue to grow the cruise tourism product in 2019. It is essential that destination visitor appeal is maintained by our destination partners, stakeholders and the population at large, in order to continue the success of cruise tourism.
Being hospitable to our guests and always displaying that ‘Friendly Island’ smile that they have become accustomed too, will continue to move cruise tourism and the destination forward.”
