Carnival Cruise Line announced today that they will be sending two cruise ships to China starting in 2017 with Carnival Miracle. In the spring of 2018, Carnival Splendor will join Carnival Miracle as both ships will be based year round in China.
Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, gave the following statement:
“Carnival is the world’s most popular cruise line and our style of cruising appeals to guests of all ages and particularly families. We attract more than 4.5 million guests a year and, as the family cruise leader, we also carry more than 700,000 children each year.
Multi-generational families also choose to vacation with Carnival more than any other cruise brand. We look forward to bringing our one-of-a-kind, exceptionally popular cruise experience to the Chinese market.”
Details about the itineraries that these two Carnival ships that will sail in China will be released at a later time. However, the cruise line talked about their experience with sailing three to five night cruises and how that will be invaluable in providing a memorable experience for Chinese guests. The first reservations for cruises to China on Carnival Miracle will open in 2016.
Carnival Miracle is a 2,100 passenger, 88,500 gross ton ship that debuted in 2004. The ship recently underwent extensive enhancements where many features of Funship 2.0 were added. Carnival Splendor, which debuted in the summer of 2008, is a 3,000 passenger, 113,000 gross ton ship.
