This 3rd yet to be named cruise ship will be built by Fincantieri and will be a sister ship to the Royal Princess and Regal Princess.  The ship will be 143,000 gross tons and will carry 3,560 passengers.  The ship is expected to cost $600 million euros ($803 million USD).

Jan Swartz, the president of Princess Cruises gave the following statement:

We are incredibly excited to add this fabulous new ship to our already formidable fleet.  Royal Princess and Regal Princess have been exceptionally successful for us and have received numerous accolades from guests, travel agents and media, so adding another sister ship will enable us to continue to expand our innovative vacation experiences. We’re very pleased that this new ship order is an indication of the confidence that our parent Carnival Corporation has in the future of the Princess brand.

This 3rd Royal Class ship will have many of the same features that passengers have loved on the Royal Princess and Regal Princess.  The ship will have the large Piazza area, the large Movies Under the Stars screen, the adults only Sanctuary, and 80% of all staterooms will be have a balcony.

Princess also stated that latest cruise ship will have new innovations that will enhance passengers experience even further, although no details have yet to be released.

Princess Cruises is owned by Carnival Corporation and this is currently the only new built the company has planned for 2017.
