This fall will see three of the world’s newest cruise ships from Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, and Holland America Line homeport in the cruise gateway to the Caribbean, South Florida. Among these three ships is the largest cruise ship ever built, Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas.
Carnival Vista – Carnival Cruise Line’s newest and largest cruise ship, Carnival Vista will arrive in PortMiami on November 27, 2016 and begin a series of 6-8 night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
Carnival Vista brings many new features to the cruise industry including the first IMAX at sea and Skyride, the first cycling track at sea. Other features of Carnival Vista are the ship’s unique LED tower that changes throughout the day, family harbor staterooms that can accommodate families of five, the largest waterworks at sea, deck five dining with indoor and outdoor seating, and the New England inspired eatery Seafood Shack. Harmony of the Seas – Royal Caribbean’s 3rd Oasis class ship, Harmony of the Seas is the largest cruise ship every built at 226,000 gross tons. This 6,000 passenger cruise ship will arrive in Port Everglades on November 5, 2016 and sail seven night cruises to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
Harmony of the Seas is so large that it is divided into seven distinct neighborhoods. The ship features the following:
- 20 dining venues
- Perfect Storm – a trio of waterslides
- Splashaway Bay, a water park for children
- The Aqua Theatre
- Bionic Bar with robot bartenders
- Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea that drops 10 stories
- Two rock climbing walls and two Flowriders
- A 1,400 seat theatre that hosts Broadway shows
- Over 11,000 works of art

ms Koningsdam – Holland America Line’s newest and largest cruise ship at slightly under 100,000 gross tons, ms Koningsdam arrives in Port Everglades on November 9, 2016. Once in Ft. Lauderdale, Koningsdam will sail seven to 11 night cruises to the Caribbean.
Koningsdam debuts several innovative concepts and new public spaces and venues while still featuring popular amenities guests associate with the cruise line.
Features on ms Koningsdam include a 270 degree LED projection at World Stage, the B.B. King’s Blues Club in the Queen’s Lounge, Lincoln Center Stage, the cruise line’s first purpose built staterooms for families and solo travelers, and a wide variety of dining venues and alternative restaurants.
