Royal Caribbean has officially opened their latest thrill ride at sea, the Boomerang water slide on Liberty of the Seas.
Tidal Wave, the first Boomerang water slide at sea, was added to Liberty of the Seas while the ship was in dry dock earlier this year. However, the ride wasn’t able to open until this week and is now the main feature of the revamped pool deck on the cruise ship.
The one of a kind Tidal Wave will have guests sitting in rafts where they will plummet down a steep drop, and then shoot up a nearly vertical wall, high into the air, for a moment of weightlessness.

The slide was one of three water slides added to Liberty of the Seas when the ship went into dry dock in early 2016. Liberty of the Seas is a 155,899 gross ton cruise ship that can carry up to 4,960 passengers at maximum capacity. The ship first debuted in May 2007 and remains one of the top ten largest cruise ships in the world. Liberty of the Seas currently sails week long cruises to the Caribbean from Galveston, Texas.
