Norwegian Cruise Line announced today that they will be cancelling this weeks scheduled stops in Roatan, Honduras. The Norwegian Dawn and Norwegian Jewel had itineraries with stops in Roatan on April 8 and 10.
The cancellation in stops is due to a crew member of the Norwegian Pearl that was shot and killed on Sunday, April 6, 2014 during an attempted robbery in Roatan.
Norwegian issued a statement on their Facebook page stating that the cancellations are due to an abundance of caution for the guests and crew.
Local officials in Roatan are investigating the killing and they have the alleged suspect in custody.
