Carnival Cruise Line has added another fee, this is in addition to the new charge for large night room service that was announced earlier this week.
Effective immediately, all Fun Shop purchases are subject to a 15% delivery fee. However, the delivery fee will not apply to the CHEERS! beverage package, Bottomless Bubbles, Cruise Cash, water or internet packages.
The Fun Shop allows for Carnival Cruise Line guests to pre-order anything from flowers, in room beverages, stateroom decorations, to gift baskets and cakes before their cruise. The items they pre-order are normally delivered to their stateroom on embarkation day and will now include a 15% delivery fee.
Gift orders may be placed online 24/7 on Carnival.com, or by calling The Fun Shops department at 1-800-522-7648, Monday through Sunday, 8:00am-10:00pm ET.
Earlier this week, Cruise Fever reported that Carnival has added a late night delivery fee for late night room service.
In addition to the late night fee, room service will no longer be available on debarkation day. Complete details can be viewed here.
CCL is charging a delivery fee for water now (as of our order date, 8/12/18) contrarily to what your article indicates.
Good, keep charging for extras I don’t use anyway, and keeping the fares low for me to be able to afford to take cruises.
Plentiful delicious food all day long, entertainment all day long, nice room, clean, comfortable bed to sleep in, transpo to other places to visit, lounging under the warm, Southern sun – or in a nice, cool shady place, sometimes – reading my Kindle….
That’s all I need.
If I want anything else, I’ll pay for it.
I’m glad I don’t have to pay for others’ extras via higher fares.
This is why I may start sailing with other cruise lines. Carnival always changing and starting to charge for everything! They can’t continue to use The “FunShip” motto any longer!
This is ridiculous!! Now we all have to pay for last year’s hurricane season. We shouldn’t all be penalized for last year’s storm season loses. After all, we suffered cancelled vacations too!
This is just Ridiculous Carnival!! Just pure Greed!! Shame on you Carnival!!
They don’t pay there employee’s alot so they want us to make up the difference, all people has to do is stop booking for a while
Carnival will be loosing potential cruisers due to all the outrageous fees and charges for product/services being added now. I cruised 4 times on Carnival in 2016 and hasn’t cruised since because of all the changes. I cruised 2 times on Norwegian in 2017, had a “great” time and have already scheduled 2 cruises for 2018. Norwegian is now my choice for cruising. I won’t return to Carnival unless things change for the better and management stop adding charges/fee making it difficult to have an enjoyable vacation.
Carnival has turned into a total scam, alot of effort goes into tricking you out of more money. Be sure not to gamble on the ship since its not regulated in anyway, they don’t pay out. Also the bingo will never give out the $5000 they make you think you’re playing for. Also the quality of staff has seriously declined over the years, they have poor English skills and are often very rude. You are walking into their house and they definitely let you know it’s their house not yours. I was left with the feeling that it’s staff versus passengers on the Carnival ship, I’ve never seen that atmosphere on any ship but Carnival. I would never cruise with Carnival again, there are much much better options.
Greedy
If you booked last April, does this effect the cruise you already paid for? Or only new cruises going forward??? Really tired of being blindsided by fees on cruise ships….
At a time when other cruise lines are lowering there fees due to new ships coming out I find it ironic that some are raising fees. Passengers are going to go where they can get a good deal. For me cruising is about eating, drinking and having fun. I can over look some fees for items I may no necessarily use. But if prices increase on items that I either use or chose to purchase increase on a certain vessel I will be looking around at other cruise lines.
