If you have ever been frustrated trying to get in touch or locate a friend or family member who is somewhere on the same ship as you are, Princess Cruises has the perfect solution. The cruise line plans on releasing a free mobile app called Princess@Sea Messenger.
Princess@Sea Messenger will make its debut on the Regal Princess in November and will be rolled out to the entire fleet by the end of 2015.
This free app will be available for download in the Play Store for Android devices and in the Apple Store for iPhones, iPads, and iPods. The messenger will use the ship’s WiFi so there will be no additional charges from your cell phone carrier. Passengers who do not download the app before the cruise will be able to download it by connecting to the ship’s WiFi, although they will have to sign up for an internet package to do so.
Guest who do not download the app will still be able to send messages to other passengers using Princess@Sea, the award winning app that debuted on the Royal Princess. Princess@Sea allows guests to view the day’s events and activities, their stateroom account, restaurant menus, and other information about their cruise from any smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Jan Swartz, the president of Princess Cruises, gave the following statement:
“We know it’s important for our guests to be able to stay in touch with their fellow cruisers. With the new Princess@Sea Messenger we’re making it even easier for them to share their experiences, stay in touch and even make new friends.”
The Regal Princess is the latest cruise ship built by Princess Cruises and can accommodate over 3,500 passengers. This 142,000 gross ton ship will sail one short 3 night preview cruise to the Bahamas on November 6 before beginning 7 night cruises to the Eastern Caribbean.
