Virgin Voyages, the world’s newest cruise line, has canceled their upcoming showcase in New York City.
Beginning later this week, Virgin’s first cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, was scheduled to visit New York City for several days offering local media and travel professionals a first look at this new ship.
The showcase has now been canceled. Cruise Fever was scheduled to attend Scarlet Lady’s NYC Showcase and received the following email detailing why it was canceled:
“We are currently two weeks into Scarlet Lady’s Showcase Tour, having painted the UK Virgin-red with stops in Dover and Liverpool showing off our beautiful lady and her ground-breaking offering.
Those that have visited us along the way have fallen in love with Scarlet, our Crew, and our drive to change vacations at sea for good.
As we have been making our way across the Atlantic Ocean, we have been keeping a watchful eye on the news. In light of current global headlines, we have made the decision to postpone our upcoming Showcase Tour pitstop in New York City.
We have absolutely no health concerns or issues onboard. The elevated health protocols and processes we put in place when we took delivery of Scarlet Lady have kept our Crew and their family and friends well and happy.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we look forward to welcoming you aboard soon.”
The cruise ship was scheduled to stop in New York City for several days before heading to Florida.
Scarlet Lady, an adults only cruise ship, will sail her first revenue cruise on March 26, 2020 out of Miami, Florida.
