When is FREE not Free? Only on Norwegian cruises. We recently booked a 2 week cruise with Norwegian. The service charges for the FREE beverage package, which are payable in advance, came to over $500 for 2 people. Since our usual onboard beverage purchases are less than $300, we requested that the FREE beverage package be removed from our booking. When we book on Celebrity or Royal Caribbean, the FREE beverage package is without any additional charges.
