Several new cruise ships that were scheduled to make their debut this year will now sail their first cruise later than originally planned.
Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has delayed the launch of their first ship until April 2021. This is the second time that this new luxury cruise line has pushed back the launch of their first yacht.
Evrima was scheduled to sail her first cruise in June 2020. The vessel will now debut eight months later.
Another new cruise line, Virgin Voyages, announced a few weeks ago that their first sailing on Scarlet Lady will now take place in August. Virgin’s maiden cruise was originally scheduled to depart PortMiami yesterday.
All cruises up until August 4, 2020 have been canceled with an exception for Richard’s Birthday Bash sailing on July 15.
Another new cruise ship that may possibly be delayed is Carnival Cruise Line’s Mardi Gras, the first cruise ship with a roller coaster. Carnival has removed all sailings on the ship from their booking engine through the end of March 2021. These sailings were removed around two weeks ago but the cruise line has not yet made any announcements about the ship being delayed. (Aside from the original delay from August to November)
Celebrity Apex was also scheduled to sail her first maiden voyage this week. Celebrity Cruises took virtual delivery of the cruise ship this past week and the ship is ready to go when cruises resume.
