Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line are sending larger cruise ships to homeport in San Juan, Puerto Rico to sail seven night and longer cruises to the Southern Caribbean.
Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas will begin sailing out of San Juan beginning May 2018. The 154,000 gross ton Freedom of the Seas can carry up to 4,500 passengers and has the following features:

Once in San Juan, Freedom of the Seas will sail a variety of seven night cruises to the Southern Caribbean. Port stops include St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Aruba, Curacao, Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, and St. Maarten.
Norwegian Cruise Line recently announced that they will be sending their one of a kind Norwegian Epic to San Juan from December 8, 2019 through March 15, 2020.
Norwegian Epic will be the youngest contemporary ship and largest cruise ship homeporting in San Juan. The 155,000 gross ton cruise ship can carry 4,100 passengers at double occupancy.
The incredible ship will sail the Southern Caribbean on seven-day voyages with calls featuring sapphire blue waters and warm winter sun in Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curacao; Kralendijk, Bonaire; Castries, St. Lucia; and Basseterre, St. Kitts, as well as Bridgetown, Barbados; St. John’s, Antigua; Philipsburg, St. Maarten and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands on 10 and 11-day cruises.
