A cruise line has added a new requirement and only passengers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be allowed to board their cruise ships.
Guests booked on a Saga cruise ship must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to sailing. They will have to have both shots and allow for full immunity to take place before cruising.
The cruise line posted the following message on their website about this change:
“In order to allow our guests sufficient time to be fully vaccinated, we have decided to delay the restart of our cruise programme which was due to commence on 3rd April with Spirit of Discovery. Instead our programme will begin with Spirit of Adventure’s inaugural voyage on 4th May and our Secrets of Corsica and Sardinia cruise aboard Spirit of Discovery will now sail on the 2nd June. We will be contacting all guests affected to discuss their options.”
The cruise line has canceled all cruises before these start dates.
Guests will be required to bring their vaccinated documents with them at the time of boarding.
Saga is the first cruise line that is require that their passengers receive the COVID-19 vaccine prior to sailing.
We may see other cruise lines follow but right now, they are the only ones with this requirement.
