Celebrity Edge, the most anticipated new cruise ship in 2018, headed out to sea for the first time yesterday to begin sea trials.
During sea trials, the cruise ship’s propulsion, speed, maneuverability, stabilizers, and safety features (fire suppression & life saving equipment) are all tested. Celebrity Edge will go through more than 80 different tests during the trials that will test the seaworthiness of the vessel.
Celebrity Edge is the first of four Edge class ships from Celebrity Cruises. The ship will debut in December 2018 and sail week long cruises to the Caribbean from Port Everglades. View Prices on Cruises on Celebrity Edge. The ship will be the cruise line’s first new cruise ship in six years.
