Mardi Gras is scheduled to have her float out next week when the ship will touch water for the first time.

A game changer for the cruise industry, Carnival’s Mardi Gras will introduce a number of groundbreaking innovations, including BOLT, the first rollercoaster at sea, a new restaurant by legendary chef Emeril Lagasse, and six themed zones offering a variety of food, beverage and entertainment choices.

The cruise ship will also offer a wide range of accommodation choices, including more than 180 suites across 11 different levels.

Mardi Gras will also be the first cruise ship in North America to be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), part of Carnival Corporation’s “green cruising” platform.
