Carnival Cruise Line entered the year with 27 cruise ships in their fleet, more than any other cruise line in the world. This earned them the title as the World’s Most Popular Cruise Line.
With all cruises from North America shut down over the past six months, Carnival Cruise Line has downsized and sold four of their older cruise ships.
Carnival had eight Fantasy class ships and the class was the largest in their fleet. The ships are also their smallest coming in at around 71,000 gross tons. The vessels carry just over 2,000 passengers at double occupancy and were the least efficient ships for the cruise line.
Carnival Cruise Line now has just four Fantasy class ships in their fleet after selling Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Imagination, and Carnival Fascination.
Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet of 23 cruise ships is now as follows:
Fantasy Class
- Carnival Ecstasy
- Carnival Sensation
- Carnival Elation
- Carnival Paradise
Spirit Class
- Carnival Spirit
- Carnival Pride
- Carnival Legend
- Carnival Miracle
Conquest Class

Dream Class

- Carnival Magic
- Carnival Breeze

- Carnival Sunrise
- Carnival Radiance

Carnival Cruise Line has two new cruise ships coming over the next few years. The ships will be their largest ever at over 180,000 gross tons. Mardi Gras will debut early next year and Carnival Celebration will begin offering cruises in the Fall of 2022.
