Holland America Line has started work on a $70 million renovation of its Denali Lodge that will build on the improvements already completed, including refreshed public areas, new dining experiences, and renovated accommodations.
When guests arrive in 2027 when the Alaska season begins, they will be welcomed by a reimagined Main Lodge lobby with soaring timber-frame ceilings, a river stone fireplace, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The ladies’ and men’s restrooms are getting renovated, along with a reimagined Basecamp Coffee cafe and additional seating at the popular Karstens Public House.
Holland America Line is also adding two new guest buildings that will add 192 more rooms.
The riverside trail is also getting upgraded with new signage and more scenic viewpoints along the Nenana River.
The cruise line’s Culinary Ambassador, Ethan Stowell, will introduce new menus that showcase ingredients and flavors inspired by Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
Furnishings from 115 renovated rooms are being donated to the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska. A 45-foot shipping container was filled with furniture and other items headed to Anchorage to support the organization and local military families.
Items donated include:
- Bedframes
- Headboards
- Dressers
- Nightstands
- Chairs
- Lamps
- Other items
Holland America Line continues to support the State of Alaska and made more than $320,000 in donations to Alaska organizations in 2026.
