For the second time in the past week, a cruise line has announced that one of its new ships will be completed earlier than expected, and new cruises have been added.

Norwegian Cruise Line announced that Norwegian Aura, its largest ship ever, will now debut on May 2, 2027. NCL added two cruises since the ship is expected to be delivered early.
The new cruises include a 10-day sailing from Trieste, Italy, to Athens, Greece that will depart on May 2, 2027. A second, nine-day cruise will sail from Athens to Trieste on May 12, 2027. (View prices and itineraries on Norwegian Aura)
The 10-day itinerary will call to Dubrovnik and Split, Croatia; Bar, Montenegro; and Corfu, Santorini and Mykonos, Greece, and the nine-day sailing will visit Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, and Corfu, Greece; Bar, Montenegro; and Split and Zadar, Croatia.

Together, the newly released cruises give travelers the opportunity to be the first to experience Norwegian Aura during her inaugural season.
Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line, gave the following statement:
“The early delivery of Norwegian Aura allows us to welcome guests aboard sooner than expected and begin creating unforgettable vacation experiences earlier than planned.
“As our largest and most innovative ship yet, Norwegian Aura was designed to bring families and travelers of every generation together, with more freedom, choice and ways to enjoy their ideal vacation so no one has to compromise on their experience. We’re thrilled to open these inaugural Mediterranean sailings and look forward to welcoming our first guests aboard and introducing them to the ship’s new entertainment, dining, wellness, and innovative family-friendly experiences.”

Norwegian Aura will be the largest ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s fleet at around 170,000 gross tons. It will be approximately 10% larger than NCL’s previous two new ships.
It will feature Ocean Heights, a first-in-the-fleet outdoor activities complex spanning decks 18 through 21.
Ocean Heights will include Eclipse Racers, Norwegian’s first dueling mat racer waterslides; Aura Free Fall, a drop-in body waterslide; the 82-foot Aura Ropes Course; Moon Climber obstacle course; Aura Midway with carnival-style games; and dedicated areas for children, teens and families.
Norwegian Aura will also have the largest pool deck in the fleet.
