The cruise lines donated $25,000 to Direct Relief to support recovery efforts after a series of hurricanes devastated Hawai’i this season.

Carnival Corporation, the world’s largest cruise company, is Hawai’i’s leading cruise provider with more than 200 calls to different Hawaiian destinations each year. Ports visited by their ships include Nawiliwili, Kahului, Honolulu, Hilo, and Kailua-Kona.

528,000 guests visit Hawai’i each year through cruise ships owned by Carnival Corporation. They are able to experience the rich culture and generous Hawaiian hospitality that has made the state one of the most beloved cruise destinations anywhere.

Humanitarian organization Direct Relief, whose mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by disasters, poverty or emergencies, is working with local health care providers, nonprofits and health agencies to determine ongoing recovery needs.

Through its Hurricane Preparedness Program, Direct Relief has pre-positioned three emergency stockpiles of medical aid in Hawaiʻi, giving health care teams immediate access to medications and supplies commonly needed in the days following a hurricane.

Direct Relief has also provided field medic packs to support triage care, water purification supplies, and personal care items for displaced individuals and families.

Since the Kona Low storm system hit Hawaiʻi on March 10, 2026, followed later by Hurricanes Lala and Lowell, Direct Relief has provided more than $800,000 in medical aid to health centers, clinics, and nonprofit organizations across the islands, including Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawaiʻi and Hawaiʻi Island Community Health Center.
