Viking continues to grow as it exercises options for two more ocean cruise ships that will enter service in 2032.
Viking officially signed contracts with Fincantieri for two new ocean ships that will be built at the Ancona shipyard in Italy. This follows an announcement this past spring for two more expedition ships.

The two new ships will be 54,300 gross tons in size and carry 998 guests in 499 staterooms. They will be sister ships and nearly identical to the ships Viking currently has in its fleet.
Pierroberto Folgiero, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Fincantieri, gave the following statement:
“Today’s agreement marks another milestone in our long-standing partnership with Viking and serves as a powerful testament to the excellence and industrial expertise of our Ancona shipyard. Over the years, Ancona has proven to be an indispensable production hub for our Group, delivering highly sophisticated cruise ships that set the benchmark for technology, luxury and efficiency.
Assigning these new builds to Ancona reinforces the strategic role of the site, supports high-value local employment and ensures long-term industrial continuity for our supply chain as we continue to shape the future of sustainable cruising.”
This latest order between Viking and Fincantieri brings the total number of ocean vessels between the two companies to 28 ships.
