will there be cattle chutes?
Windstar did not make your list; but over the next 18-24 months all three of their Star class motor yachts will be seriously enlarged and modernized. Each will be cut in half and extended by about 83 ft. Among the extensive work being done, they will gain 50 cabins (increasing capacity from 212 to 312 passengers) and have a whole new environmentally advanced power and propulsion system.
With the new renovations will the cost of the cruises increase?
Well just went on a cruise on the Sunshine, back in Sept. It was revamped just 2 yrs. ago, and I tell you, the beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. Not only were they narrow, but the one I had had a big dip on the side where people had sat, and I had to put beach towels under it, just so I didn’t fall thru. I paid extra for the “Spa” rooms which were supposed to be nicer, Ha!! That was a joke!! You would think they would get good mattresses that lasted a while, these were probably only 5=7 inches thick. Not what ships should use!! I will not do this again. I am so done with cruises, prices have tripled in the last 5+ yrs. and you can’t enjoy yourself for having to spend more money!!!
Hopefully these rebuilds result in more ballroom dance floors and an occasional AFTERNOON TEA DANCES,
That’s funny. Sure, they will add stuff that younger cruisers (who they are trying to attract) have no interest in. In the case of Celebrity, the big thing is more amenities for suite guests. Not sure about the other lines.
