At least two different cruise lines have canceled port stops in Nice, France after the deadly terrorist attack on Thursday night USA Today is reporting.
Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises have each canceled port stops in Nice, France. Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas was scheduled to stop in Nice on Friday but will now enjoy a day at sea. Celebrity Constellation will also have a day at sea instead of stopping in Nice. Constellation was originally scheduled to stop in the port on Saturday.
In addition to Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises canceling port stops in Nice, several other cruise lines are canceling shore excursions to Nice. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas, and Oceania Cruises), and P&O Cruises have canceled all excursions to Nice when ships dock in nearby ports.
Both Royal Caribbean and Norwegian issued statements stating that the cancellations were put in place for the safety and security of the passengers and crew members. Cruise Fever will continue to monitor the situation in France and will have all updates when cruise lines make changes to itineraries.
