Norwegian Next is Norwegian Cruise Lines new $250 million initiative that will bring new enhancements, experiences, and transformations to the youngest fleet at sea. The cruise line is building on the success of their two newest cruise ships, the Norwegian Breakaway and Getaway.
Dining
Norwegian took the cruise industry by storm when they introduced Freestyle Dining in 2000. Now, nearly every cruise line offers some type of Freestyle Dining to go along with traditional dining.
Norwegian plans on adding new restaurants, redesigned menus, and celebrity partnerships. O’Sheehan’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill will soon be a complimentary dining option throughout Norwegian’s fleet.
Bars & Lounges
Sugarcane Mojito Bar, a passenger favorite on the Norwegian Getaway, will also be added to other Norwegian cruise ships.
The cruise line also has an exclusive partnership with the Michael Mondavi Family. New and immersive wine experiences and events will soon be announced.
Entertainment
Norwegian Next will be bringing new game shows and new theme nights to their cruise ships including the rollout of H2Glow Party. The H2Glow Party debuted on the Norwegian Breakaway and is the hottest deck party under the stars.
Award winning entertainment will be customized to each cruise ship with an itinerary to keep the line-ups constantly fresh.
Norwegian has an exclusive partnership with Nickelodeon and has plans to bring new activities, themed dinners in the buffet, and character meet and greets.
Technology
Norwegian is enhancing the Wi-Fi on all of their ships and you will soon be able to connect anywhere on the ship, from bow to stern.
Norwegian is the first cruise line to roll out an iConcierge app fleetwide to give passengers an easy way to connect what is going on around the ship. The cruise line plans on enhancing the app to improve the pre-cruise planning experience.
Environmental
Norwegian Cruise Line remains committed to protecting the world’s oceans and to be an environmental steward. They will be installing gas scrubbers on 7 cruise ships to help reduce fuel emissions and their environmental footprint. They are also coating all of their underwater hulls with high performance paint. This will help make the ships be
more fuel efficient as they will have less friction in the water.
Great Stirrup Cay
Norwegian continues to add more features to their private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay. They will be adding more beaches, cabanas, and activities as well as new Patron and Bacardi bars.
Harvest Caye
One of the most anticipated new features from Norwegian Cruise Line is a 75 acre experience in southern Belize called Harvest Caye. Slated to open in 2015, this slice of paradise will include a floating pier, island village, marina, tours to the mainland, and a lagoon for water sports. There will also be a beach for cruise passengers who just want to lay out in the sun.
