Unique Cabins Found on Carnival Cruise Ships

Carnival Cruise Line has as many cruise ships in service (26) as any other cruise line in the world.  The cruise line operates cruise ships in seven different classes, offering a wide variety of options.

Because of the variety of Carnival Cruise Line’s ship options, here are some unique cabins found only on Carnival cruise ships.

Category 1A Inside Staterooms: Virtually all cruise ship cabins have two beds that can be combined to make one bed.  This makes each cabin flexible and anyone can stay in them from a couple or those traveling as friends.  Carnival offers category 1A inside staterooms that are different than the others.

These cabins come equipped with bunk beds that cannot be made into one bed.  This option is great for friends traveling together but not for couples and certainly not for honeymooners. These staterooms are the cheapest cabins available on Carnival cruise ships.   They are often smaller than standard inside cabins but offer an excellent option for budget conscience cruisers.

Category 6K Grand Scenic Ocean View: An ocean view stateroom on steroids, the category 6K staterooms found on select Carnival ships offer extra space and incredible views.

If you want to book a Scenic Grand Ocean View stateroom on a Carnival ship, you’ll want to book it early as they are extremely limited and are often reserved 6 months or more in advance. They come in at 320 sq. ft., over 50% larger than the standard cabins.

Family Harbor Staterooms (Category F): The perfect options for families, the Family Harbor accommodations offer an array of suites, cove balconies, deluxe ocean view and interior staterooms, all decorated in a nautical flag motif (in red, white, blue and yellow).

What makes these cabins so special? They include a Family Harbor Lounge that is a secluded space designed as the ultimate family hang out with large-screen televisions, games and complimentary breakfast and snacks. A special family concierge desk is available here to assist families in making this their best vacation ever.

The Family Suites feature two bathrooms: one full bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink and additional bathroom with a junior tub and sink. A room divider with a privacy curtain separates the twin/king from the double sofa bed and upper berth.

Havana Staterooms:  When you stay in one of Carnival Cruise Line’s Havana staterooms, it’s like you’re no longer on a cruise ship.  You get exclusive daytime access to an aft pool area so you can stay away from the crowded main pool area.

Inside, all Havana staterooms feature a unique décor, and the Havana Cabana offers an extra-large outdoor chill space featuring a lounge-ready hammock chair. Step into a Havana Cabana suite for even more space, plus a luxurious rain shower.

Also, all Havana stateroom guests must be 12 years and older.  These cabins can be found on Carnival’s Vista class cruise ships.
