Best Cruise Lines for Cruises to the Bahamas

One of the most popular cruise destinations in the world, there are a variety of options when choosing a cruise to the Bahamas.  Most of the mainstream cruise lines (Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Disney, Norwegian etc) have cruise ships sailing twice a week, normally Monday and Friday, to the Bahamas.

These three and four day cruises to the Bahamas are great for quick getaways, those who are short on vacation time, or for anyone who wants to get their feet wet and try a cruise for the first time.  After all, my introduction to cruising was a four night cruise to the Bahamas.  That cruise started my addiction to cruising which eventually lead to the start of this website, Cruise Fever.

With that being said, here are the best options for cruises to the Bahamas.

Norwegian Sky

What makes Norwegian Sky a great option for cruises to the Bahamas? The cruise ship offers some of the most affordable cruise rates you’ll find anywhere.

Norwegian Sky offers a nice combination of three, four, and five night cruises to the Bahamas including the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay.  View Prices on Cruises on Norwegian Sky (Cruises from $169 per person)

Mariner of the Seas

For cruises to the Bahamas, you won’t find a cruise ship with more activities and features that Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas.  About 18 months ago, the ship went into dry dock and the cruise line spent $120 million on upgrading and adding new features to the vessel.  If you want an action packed getaway, then this is the ship for you.

The new sports deck on the top of the cruise ship features a flowrider, basketball court, Sky Pad (bungee trampoline experience), waterslides, a water park, a rock climbing wall and more.

Mariner of the Seas sails three and four night cruises to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral, Florida.  Both cruises stop in Nassau and the cruise line’s private island, CocoCay.  The four night cruises add in one sea day.  View Prices on Cruises on Mariner of the Seas (Cruises from $205 per person)

Disney Dream

The only premium cruise line to offer three and four night cruises to the Bahamas, Disney Cruise Line sails from Port Canaveral every Monday and Friday to the Bahamas on Disney Dream.

While cruises on Disney Dream are perfect for kids, they are also great for adults.  From character meet and greets to spaces just for adults, there is something for everyone on a Disney cruise ship.

Both cruises stop in Nassau and at the cruise line’s private island in the Bahamas Castaway Cay.  The stop at Castaway Cay is often the highlight for cruisers on this cruise.  The four day cruises have one extra day at sea.  View Prices on Cruises on Disney Dream

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line offers something that no other cruise line offers.  Not only do they offer daily departures for two night cruises to the Bahamas, but you can combine your cruise with a resort stay if you wish. Yes, you can take a cruise ship to the Bahamas and get off and stay in a resort for a few days.  When your resort stay is completed, you will hop back on the ship for a one night cruise back to Florida.

Leaving from Palm Beach, Bahamas Paradise now has two cruise ships offering daily departures. These two day cruises give you the flexibility to leave any day of the week that you want.  These cruises are perfect for quick getaways to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or any other occasion.  Then again, do you need an excuse to take a cruise?

We recently took a cruise on Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line and you can read about our experience here.

Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival Cruise Line offers three and four night cruises to the Bahamas from the Cruise Capital of the World, PortMiami. These budget friendly cruises start at just $154 per person (January 31 sailing).
