4 Future Cruise Ships Coming to Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival Cruise Line, the world’s most popular cruise line with a total of 25 cruise ships in service, has orders for four more ships that will be delivered over the next few years.  Here is a look at cruise ships that are being added to Carnival Cruise Line in the near future.

Vista Class

Carnival has orders for two more Vista class ships with delivery dates of 2018 and 2019.  Carnival Horizon, currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, will be the second Vista class ship in service when she makes her debut in March 2018.  The third Vista class ship will be named Carnival Panorama and go into service in 2019.

LNG Powered Ships

Carnival Cruise Line recently announced an order for two, 180,000 gross ton ships that will be powered by LNG. These will be by far the largest cruise ships in Carnival’s fleet and are scheduled to be delivered in 2020 and 2022.  They will each carry 6,600 passengers and be built by Meyer Turku.

Based on Carnival Corporation’s next-generation “green cruising” ship design, these new vessels will be part of the first generation of cruise ships to be fully powered by LNG, which is an industry first and an environmental breakthrough that will produce the most efficient ships in the company’s history.

Pioneering a new era in the use of alternative fuels that reduce air emissions, these new ships will use LNG to generate 100 percent of the ship’s power both in port and on the open sea – an innovation that will significantly reduce exhaust emissions to help protect the environment and support the company’s aggressive sustainability goals.
