Worst Cruise Ever

We sailed on Diamond Princess from Sydney (Australia ) to Auclkand (N.Z.) December 2011.
The staff was all "green" and not knowing what their duties fully entailed and only been onboard since Singapore.
The food variety was aimed more towards asian food rather that a variety. If you wanted vegetables with your meat, they had to be ordered. One one of our formal nights there were unsupervised children in the restraunt at tables demanding this and that, but no adults were in sight. Tours were not well orginasrd. We waited for 40 minutes for a tour to depart as no one from Princess was available with the list. Security on re entry onto the ship was not available in on port in N.Z., so everyone just boarded the ship with Princess not knowing who was on board. The list just keeps on going.
On return home we spoke to our travel agent, who advised us to write a letter to her explaining what went wrong and she would forward to Princess Cruises. We recieved a reply back from Princess saying that they would forward the concerns to the appropiate departments.
We were going o book a 32 night cruise for 2012, but with this responce, Princess do not care about their "Loyal" customers. We have sailed 4 times in the past.
Maybe better look towards another cruise company or just not cruise.

I have heard that Princess is usually pretty good to their cruisers, but sorry you had this bad experience. Some people don't realize that the staff makes a HUGE difference when you are at sea, and it can really make or break your cruise vacation. I have seen both sides of the coin, both really amazing cruise crew and really amateurish crew. When sailing with MSC it was a mixture of both, but on Royal Caribbean it seemed like the staff really had it together. Hopefully Princess will address the concerns you mentioned

Hi Ben,
As stated earlier, we recieved a letter from "customer Service" to say that these concerns would be forwareded to the appropiate departments.
Nothing more. We are under the impression that there were more complaints about this cruise and Princess wants to keep it under wrap.
We spoke to our travel agent last week and she and her boss are attending a convention in Vancouver shortly and this matter will be brought to the Princess area managers attention. We will just have to wait and see, but we are not holding our breaths for any positive responce.
