Another Carnival Cruise Ship Lands Perfect 100 Health Score During Inspection

For the second time this month, a Carnival Cruise Line cruise ship has scored a perfect 100 during a surprised health inspection carried out by the United States Public Health Service.
Carnival Victory scored 100 during its recent United States Public Health (U.S.P.H.) inspection which took place in Miami. This marks the third consecutive time the ship has achieved a perfect U.S.P.H inspection score.    Earlier this month, Carnival Elation scored a perfect 100 on its U.S.P.H. inspection in Jacksonville for the second time in a row.

For cruise ship to score 100, all inspected departments must receive perfect marks on the 44 items that comprise the U.S.P.H.’s comprehensive Vessel Sanitation Program checklist.  The unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. port, evaluate vessels in a wide variety of areas, including adherence to proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness. Ships’ potable water supplies used in spas and pools are evaluated, as well.

Carnival Victory’s two previous inspections took place on March 27 and August 28, 2016.  The ship earned a perfect 100 health score during both inspections.  This is the 9th 100 score for Carnival Victory since the ship debuted in 2000.

Carnival Victory is a 101,509 gross ton cruise ship that can carry 2,758 passengers.  The ship currently sails three and four night cruises to the Caribbean and Bahamas from PortMiami.

  1. Can’t believe this. I’ve just spent a week on the Carnival Victory and you couldn’t see out of any windows on the ship as they were filthy and caked in salt. Not much fun when you can’t see the sea!
