Carnival Corporation’s Fathom brand became the first cruise line to sail to Cuba from the U.S. in more than 50 years earlier this year.  Royal Caribbean has been requesting approval to sail to the Caribbean island.  While they have not announced which cruise ship will sail to Cuba, it is widely believed that they will use the smaller Empress of the Seas.

Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean, said that the cruise line’s passengers have expressed interest in sailing to Cuba and they believe that this new cruise destination will appeal to a new generation of travelers.

Cruise Fever will have additional information (itineraries, rates, cruise ships etc.) on Royal Caribbean sailing to Cuba in the near future.
