Carnival Vista To Be Carnival Cruise Line’s 25th Cruise Ship

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that the name of the 25th ship in their fleet will be called the Carnival Vista.  The Carnival Vista will be the largest cruise ship ever built by Carnival and is scheduled to launch in 2016.

The ship will hold 4,000 passengers and will be 135,000 gross tons in size.  The ship will be built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.  The name Carnival Vista was chosen over the Carnival Sunrise and Carnival Splash.

Carnival has been tight-lipped on details about this new vessel.  However, CCL did state that the ship will have the line’s Fun Ship 2.0 initiative and have innovations that will be unique to this Carnival ship.

Itineraries for the Carnival Vista will be announced at a later time, along with which hometown port that the Vista will sail out of.

While Carnival has the most cruise ships out of all of the cruise lines, so far they have stayed away from building the mega ships that Royal Caribbean and Norwegian have had great success with.   When the Carnival Vista is christened in 2016, she will not even crack the top 20 list of the world’s largest cruise ships.

There are many rumors and speculation on message boards on the details of the Vista.  Some of these include several specialty restaurants with a variety of themes, an effort to mimic the success that Norwegian Cruise Line has had with specialty restaurants.  Other rumors are that the ship will not have a large atrium and will be similar to the Dream Class ships.

Cruise Fever will continue to monitor details of the Carnival Vista and will have the latest news when they are announced.

We would love to hear your thoughts and comments on what you would like the Carnival Vista to have that currently isn’t offered on any other Carnival cruise ship.  Leave a comment below with your thoughts and suggestions.

  2. What I really wish is that all Carnival Ships; new and old; would get Guy Fieri’s burger joint!! I heard that those burgers are DELISH!! That way; no matter what ship I am on and the food in not good; I can always get a burger and fries!!

  3. The Vista needs to sail from Fort Lauderdale or Miami – preferably Fort Lauderdale so the Freedom could go to a new home port. I would also like to see CCL partner with a restaurant chain such as Bahama Breeze or Bonefish Grill to create an all new fine dining experience for Carnival ships.

    • Vista should go to Miami or Ft Lauderdale where it is warm. Most people want get out of the winter weather cold and snow. Florida would be the best place for the vista to sail out of. Miami is the best for it to sail, because u
you can down a day early and go spend the day on south beach!!!!!!
