Carnival Cruise Ship Inaugurates Renovated Terminal at Port Canaveral

This past weekend, Carnival Valor inaugurated the recently renovated Terminal 5 at Port Canaveral.

The inauguration took place as Carnival Valor was departing on an eight day cruise to the Southern Caribbean.  The $48 million dollar project helped expand the terminal which can now hold cruise ships that carry up to 3,500 passengers.  Other parts of the renovation included:

Carnival Cruise Line is the largest cruise operator from Port Canaveral.  Three ships, Carnival Valor, Carnival Magic, and Carnival Victory offer year round cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean.  Carnival Sunshine also sails seasonally from the port. Each year, these four cruise ships carry over 650,000 cruise passengers from the space port, more than any other cruise line.

Port Canaveral is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world with nearly 4 million cruise passengers passing through the port each year.
