The luxury 382 passenger cruise ship, the Silversea Silver Shadow, collided with a cargo ship in Vietnam earlier this week. Dense fog was reported in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam when the ships made contact.
The Silver Shadow sustained minor damage but the cargo ship did not fare as well. The collision left substantial damage to the local commercial vessel and there were unconfirmed crew injuries.
Guests on board the Silver Shadow reported to their muster stations until the captain announced that the ship was not in danger. Silversea has said that the guests’ safety was never comprised during the incident. The jolt knocked passengers off their feet but there were no reported injuries.
The ship continued on its course to Ha Long Bay and the cruise went on as normal. Silversea is carrying out a full investigation of the accident. Cruise Fever will continue to bring you the latest updates as more information becomes available.
The Silversea Silver Shadow is an ultra deluxe, all suite cruise ship that is currently offering cruises in the Far East.
