Two Cruise Lines Raise Drink Prices

Two cruise lines have raised prices on some of the beverage packages offered on their ships this week.

Carnival Cruise Line is now charging $3.99 for a 12 pack of bottled water as part of the new Cheers Program, a 33% increase over the old price.  Carnival began selling 12 packs of 500 ML bottles for $2.99 (if purchased before your cruise) when the cruise line banned passengers from bringing bottled water onto their ships in the summer of 2015. The change was made to keep passengers from smuggling alcohol onto their cruise ships.

Norwegian Cruise Line is raising the price on two of their beverage packages.  The Ultimate Beverage package will now cost $79 per person per day, a $10 increase.   The Corks and Caps Beverage Package will now cost $59 per person per day, up from $54.   The soda package will remain at $7.50 per day. All Norwegian ships will see this increase rolled out with the exceptions of Pride of America and Norwegian Sky.

Cruise Fever would love to hear your thoughts on these two price increases from Carnival Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line.

  1. If NCL continues to offer the beverage package has a incentive, I don’t care what they claim that it’s worth. As soon as it’s no longer offered for free, I would never buy it at that price.

  2. Nickle, dime, nickel, dime. Getting like airlines. At this rate, cruising will not such a good deal.

    • Thats so true the amenities just keep decling and prices inflated.. after awhile cruising won’t be the way to.. NO BANG FOR THE BUCK

  3. NCL charges an awful price for water. I ordered a 12 pack for my mom who needs to drink water daily. I couldn’t believe it was $47. I ordered it for her for our cruise leaving on April 3rd but I won’t pay that again. That was terrible. I love NCL but come on… That is outrageous!
